Why I feel Trunity Connects is a much better choice than Salesforce Customers Portal / Enterprise CMS (Content Management System)

For businesses, the Trunity Connect and Salesforce Customer Portal solution have excellent cloud based software for enterprise CMS with other bells and whistles such as surveying, event calendars, forums, and ties into popular social media. This is a perfect solution for any company who has a lot of manuals, whitepapers , videos and data they need to share with customers for training or technical support needs. In return retaining the customer, building further brand loyalty, end result increasing revenue.
Some companies embark on building their own enterprise CMS solutions internally which often isn’t the smartest, it becomes costly, risky and time consuming and at the end not as robust, scalable and secure as a bought solution which has been thought out and tested multiple times.
However developing it in house or going for a well established product can get very costly or put more profit in your pocketbook.
The two enterprise CMS products in my opinion that have a good user-friendly interface that is easy to use and quick to setup are Salesforce and Trunity Connect, however their price models are very different.
Salesforce charges per a user which could add up. They have three different price breaks for their portal product, Professional Edition at $65 per user per a month, $135 per user per a month, and $260 per a user per a month. I don’t need to spell out the math – Salesforce Enterprise Content Management System Customers Portal gouges you in price.
Trunity will charge a one-time set-up fee. This fee pays for limited customization, such as color schemes and logos to make the platform more clearly represent the company, and other technical design services. After set-up, the customer pays a monthly licensing fee of about $2,000-3,000 per month based on the number of users and storage needs of the business.
Trunity Connects has a much better taxonomy with flexible categorization, robust organization which can easily index small to extremely large amounts of data where most taxonomies can’t. I find it is probably the best in the industry. This gives ample room to grow libraries. People might not know this but the encyclopedia earth is built on their platform. With the amount of electronic data growing each year companies share with customers and staff, the importance of having a scalable data repository should be high.
Another feature why I choose Trunity Connects over Salesforce CMS is uploading documents in Salesforce and replacing them is a pain. With Trunity Connects it is more intuitive. Your staff needs very little technical knowledge. You can easily upload Excel, Power Point, Word, JPG, GIFI, FLA,MOV, MP4, PNG files and more and choose who you want to share them with along with having customers vote or collaborate and update these files easily without hassles.
Comparing the two products I feel Salesforce CMS would take up more of my time being on technical support than Trunity Connects and handles vast amounts of data better than Salesforce.
